Counting Political Buttons at the Twins Game Today

So, I don't know how widespread the rumor that Bush was going to throw out the first ball was (Paul Molitor (sp) threw it out) and if that may account for what I observed today. If it had gotton out to anyone not on the DFL Central Committee it sure must have missed the Bush types.

There were tons of people wearing Kerry buttons and shirts. There was at least one guy that had managed to get one of the small Kerry lawn signs into the stadium and was waving it. I didn't see a single, (not one, nada, zip) Bush button. :bounce:

2. I was out in Bloomington and Wayzata and points in between

yesterday (taking care of my nephews and dropping them off at my mother's house), and while I saw more Bush/Cheney signs than in Linden Hills (duh), I was pleased to see that the ratio was more like 50/50 than 80/20. Every cluster of Bush signs seemed to be matched by a cluster of Kerry signs.

I've got my fingers crossed.

3. At the Friday night game

I saw one Kerry button and no Bush buttons, so I think the threat to have * throw out a pitch may have had an impact.
