I'm proud to announce that the Progressive Patriots community has chosen House challenger Ashwin Madia of Minnesota as our second 'Progressive Patriot' of 2008. Of the thousands of progressives who cast their vote, Ashwin received the most votes and today we'll be sending him a $5,000 contribution to help his campaign. While I know it was difficult to choose among so many great candidates, we're thrilled to support Ashwin's campaign for the House seat in Minnesota's 3rd district.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota and NYU's Law School, Ashwin joined the U.S. Marine Corps serving as a prosecutor, defense counsel and legal advisor. During the 2006 elections Ashwin also volunteered for a variety of Democratic Candidates in Minnesota, providing him with hands on experience in the importance of campaigning at the grassroots level.
