WHAT. THE. HELL.
Does Priscilla Lord Faris think she is doing? Who is she anyway?

http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2008/08/06/lordfarisad/

DFL U.S. Senate candidate Priscilla Lord Faris is out with a television ad questioning the electability of the party's endorsed candidate, Al Franken.

1. Oh, good grief.
Some kind of ego trip, I think. Maybe inherited from her dad, ex-federal judge Miles Lord. Lord was hailed as a "liberal" judge, but he always struck me as kind of an egomaniac.

3. There was a letter to the Strib today from someone on her campaign
claiming it's incorrect to refer to Franken as the DFL nominee. The letter writer claims that being endorsed at the convention does not make a candidate the party's nominee only the primary can do that - which is odd because if it weren't for nuts like Faris, there wouldn't have to be a primary. The endorsed candidate is the party's official candidate and someone else winning the primary doesn't change that. When the endorsed candidate is defeated in a primary, it's up to the State Central Committee to decide if it will endorse the winner (and 99.9% of the time it does) if the primary winner does not get that endorese s/he does not get access to any party resources for their campaign.

I'd like to know where Faris is getting her money for this little escapade.

4. Her publicity agent is Michael Brodkorb
Minnesota Democrats Exposed:puke: has been the main outlet for her tripe. Connect the dots.

5. I'd actually forgotton all about her until I saw the LTTE today
I wonder if she'll have a prescence at the State Fair? I love the fair, it gives us so many opportunities to meet politicians face to face.

I'll be interested to see what the crowd at Normie's booth looks like. Two years ago, there was no one near Mark Kennedy's booth and that was certainly a sign of things to come in November.

7. I saw Kennedy's booth... it was pathetic and funny.
I enjoyed watching his trolls speak to no one, fidgeting.

8. Well, considering how the state will be crawling with Repubs
during the fair, I think it's safe to say Normie's booth will be busy. Fortunately, none of the crowd will be eligible to vote here.

11. The fair starts on Aug 21
I doubt that many Repugs will be coming to town that early. And, even if they do, would they want to mingle with the common folk at the fair?

16. I would avoid the last weekend, then.
Some of them may decide to mingle with the common folk so they can point and laugh!

9. Maybe not officially, but it's obvious...
...she's using Brodkorb and MDE to get her message out. That's pretty sad--almost as sad as her new ad. Someone needs to serve her a big steaming cup of STFU. I'm not Franken's biggest fan, but Priscilla-Come-Lately is serving no useful purpose now other than to pave the way for Norm's second term. Way to sully the Lord legacy.

10. Unless Franken IS unelectable and the DFL needs a second.
Franken was a good headline grabber but a bad choice to Represent the DFL. If he cannot keep his personal affairs in order how can he handle Congress?

13. Those sounds like talking points guys in a bowling alley might use
Rather than sticking to the issues, maybe Franken should be discussing Normie's "personal affairs".

14. Just a messenger here..
Question was asked "Why is she doing this?". My Mom, rest her soul who voted DFL here entire life wasn't going to vote for Franken Nobody in this senior building wants to vote for Franken. We wouldn't vote for Willie Nelson or Rosie O'Donnell for Congress either but we agree with their position on issues.

I bet the pollsters have gotten this message too and some smarter people are looking for a way to win this election.

15. But to vote for someone whom nobody's ever heard of
whose campaign is managed by a Republican?

That's a little extreme.

I personally think Franken was a poor choice (Nelson-Pallmeyer was squeaky clean and great on the issues) and that the DFL got star-struck, but to vote for somebody whose only claim to fame so far is "I'm not Franken" seems a bit self-destructive, yes?

Beware of unconsciously absorbing right-wing talking points.

17. Spoiler Greens are touting her, too

She's trying to act the spoiler to get a Republican elected. Greens seem to like that.
