Strib carrying water for McSame/Palin
So yesterday the "liberal" StarTribune reported that a "massive" crowd of 13,000 greeted McSame & Caribou Barbie at the Anoka airport.

Today their count is down to 10,000 - and the article itself only says "thousands."

http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/28676954.html

So how many were *really* there, and when will Minnesota's right-wingers be able to admit that the Strib is no longer the "Star & Sickle"?

1. The writers who do headlines have quite a bit of power. Sometimes I
wonder if they have even read the articles that they title.

2. To be fair to the Strib, they probably got that 13,000 number
from the McAncient campaign. And if you try to cram even half that many people onto the Anoka Airport, it would look "massive." I'm familiar with that airport and I can't imagine where they found room to put 10,000 people, let alone 13,000.

5. I saw the video of the crowd and they were crammed in.
The place looked completely full right after the speeches.

8. You're exactly right.
When reporting the 13,000 number the Strib said is was from the McCain Campaign.

4. That's the wingnuts' favorite name for it, judging from the comments section

I wonder which radio talk show host originated it.

The real Red Star (Krasnaya Zvezda) was the newspaper of the Soviet Army.

6. Strib reporter appeared onstage to endorse McCain-Palin
Remember when a Pioneer Press reporter was fired for just attending a Springsteen benefit concert for Act for Change? Times have changed. Star-Tribune reporter :puke: Ron Schara endorsed McCain-Palin from the stage yesterday in the most disgraceful, dishonorable move I've ever seen from a newspaper staffer. Some might call it the "Red Star" or "Star and Sickle," but this newspaper has just committed high treason to the profession by allowing one of its reporters to endorse two Republican candidates at a rally.

9. I don't believe schara is on the strib's payroll ....he makes no money from the newspaper
he has his own syndicated outdoors tv show, "Minnesota Bound."

still, it is egregious.
I think the show runs on KSTP but it may be KARE.

one could make a few calls to the stations that air it.

he also has an ad on radio for a pet cremation service....

10. Ron Schara is still on the Strib payroll
He's listed here in the staff directory:
