Hillary Clinton coming to U of M for Al Franken rally

Here's what I just got in an email:

We've got some very exciting news to share with you.

Senator Hillary Clinton is coming to Minnesota for a rally with Al, and we want YOU to be there, too! It's a great chance to hear from one of the nation's foremost fighters for the middle class, and to get pumped up for the last two weeks of the campaign.

Here are the details:
WHAT: Senator Hillary Clinton joins Al Franken for a "Two Weeks Out" rally
WHEN: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21 -- doors open at 4:00 pm, rally begins at 4:30 pm
WHERE: McNamara Alumni Center
200 Oak Street Southeast
Minneapolis
(Parking available at the Washington Ave. parking lot or on the street)

Man, I used to work in the McNamara Center at the U. Wish I was still there! I'm still planning to attend next Tuesday.

If you have any time to help phonebank this weekend or Monday, Al's campaign is looking for volunteers.

I received a call last night to volunteer (and I am)...thought I'd spread the word.

Even 1-2 hours help. The calls are to invite people to this event (no persuasion or asking for donations).
I think today's hours are 12:00-5:00, tomorrow 1:00-7:00, and Monday 10:00-9:00. You can call 612-558-2309 (probably Amber or Meredith) or just show up!

If you can't go, please email or call others to help advertise. Ask anyone to invite friends/family who might be undecided (yeah, I know, can't believe anyone is still undecided at this point) or leaning toward Barkley (he's not going to win, and we need to defeat Norm). We need lots of people to show up for Hillary and Al.

Unfortunately I can't help with the phone banking. I am a stay-at-home mom with a soon-to-be 1 year old (she'll be 1 on the 28th...wow, time flies). My husband would not be available to watch the little one those hours. But I am definitely spreading the word and I'm planning to attend on Tuesday and bringing my little girl with me! I'm starting her out young!! Ha,Ha!

and I forwarded the announcement to a long list of women who might be interested.

I expect Hillary to emphasize how important it is for us to get Al to Washington in the Senate.

She's scheduled to be in Hibbing at 7 p.m.
