1. The only thing I like about her is her hair.
Also, it's "Democratic President". Or shall we say she's part of the Republicant party because all those people can do is CANT because they CAN'T do anything else (which history HAS shown)? ;)

2. Has anyone broken it to Bachmann that Ford was president during the last Swine Flu scare
he thought his vaccine program was the key to reelection. I remember Chevy Chase playing him in a debate and coming on stage with a hypodermic stuck in his upper arm.

I wonder if she'll make Worse Persons tonight for this?

3. Has anyone reminded Bachmann that she and her husband campaigned for Jimmy Carter?
I'm not blaming Michele for swine flu or anything, but it is an interesting coincidence that she and her husband met while working on Jimmy Carter's campaign when we last had swine flu, and now Bachmann is in Congress and we have swine flu again.

7. Well, i expect her to run against Ron Carey in the GOP Senate Primary
beat Carey and go against Amy Klobuchar and loose and end her political career. Klobuchar knocked off Mark Kennedy who used to be in the 6th, and she can knock off Bachmann and send her on the Mega-Church circuit.

15. Those are the rumors I keep hearing
That she is using this limelight since the RNC to propel herself in the next GOP Primary for Senate. I think Carey might make a run as he recently stepped down as head of the MN GOP.

I see her doing the same scorched earth policy statewide with the GOP to get lackeys to vote for her the same way she did a scorched earth in the 6th District. Any moderates were purged and they are all Bachmann-robots controlling the internal power strings up there.

And given the main reaction of the GOP nationally to shift farther right to try to get power back, I can easily see Bachmann getting the nod against Klobuchar. Of course Klobuchar would have the moderates in addition to the base and Bachmann has her base but no chance of any moderates as they think she is beyond  .

8. Politico Makes Fun of Bachmann
Edited on Tue Apr-28-09 02:52 PM by Avidor

It was only a matter of time before the CDC discovered an outbreak of Michele Bachmann quotes.

Bachmann, speaking on Pajamas TV, noted: "I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another Democrat president Jimmy Carter. And I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence."

The 1976 swine flu scare happened on Gerald Ford's watch.

We checked Wikipedia.

Ford was a Republican.

10. She isn't bright and she isn't sane and she isn't nice and I'm not here to defend her...
But I'm sure she forgot that while Carter was elected in '76, he didn't take office till '77.

Similarly, Public Radio ran a piece about ten years ago claiming that Reagan deregulated the airlines in 1980.

I wrote to them saying that I'd be more than happy to blame Reagan, but he wasn't in charge till '81. So did they mean '81 or did they mean Carter?

Never got an answer.

14. That's a fact
Michele and Marcus met while working on Carter's campaign in 1976. I think it was over abortion that they both had an epiphany about being a Democrat. Well, it was probably whatever sounds good at the moment when Michele tells the story. Whatever will fill the collection plate the fastest.

on the 6:00 news last night and they did mention that it was under Ford, not Carter.
Bachmann is the joke that keeps on giving.

(though I doubt the wingnuts will get it)

http://www.startribune.com/opinion/letters/44192547.html?page=2&c=y

I find it interesting that the first confirmed Minnesota case of H1N1 Influenza A occurred in Rep. Michele Bachmann's district. I'm not blaming this on Michele Bachmann, I just think it's an interesting coincidence.
