MPR Poll: Dayton with wide lead (11%) over Emmer

ST. PAUL, Minn. - A new poll in the Minnesota governor's race shows Democrat Mark Dayton with a wide lead over Republican Tom Emmer.

The Minnesota Public Radio-Humphrey Institute poll has Dayton leading Emmer by 11 percent.

Just a month ago, the two candidates were even at 34 percent. But, the latest survey shows Dayton with 38 percent of 750 likely Minnesota voters and Emmer with 27 percent.

It bothers me a bit that Dayton isn't up over 40%, but I do like the consistent polling that has given him a lead, especially considering Emmer and his attack dogs have been throwing a lot of mud since Dayton won the primary.

1. There are three candidates, and the third party one is

robbing votes mainly from Emmer. The winner will probably have high 30% numbers in November.

3. Emmer has turned off many in the GOP moderate base

going back to the convention and suggesting that food service workers are overpaid.
