Republican-led House passes it easily.

Pukelenty can't wait to sign it.

Sorry but this just doesn't pass the sniff test. Repukes have ALWAYS fought minimum wage increases. Anyone have any idea what trick they have up their sleeve on this?

On edit: Sorry everyone, I wasn't clear. This is a bill in the MINNESOTA legislature. State Repukes have taken a hard right turn like they have nationally, that's why I am so skeptical of this bill.

2. They'll raise taxes in that earnings bracket
and get it back. They would never do something like this without an ulterior motive. It made my bullshit'o'meter jump right off the chart so...they are up to something.

Question: You know how you can tell a Republican is up to no good?
Answer: They are breathing.

3. no real ideas
but its interesting we had similar reactions. Republicans don't willingly give up anything. The only thing I see is that from what I hear it delays it for another year. By then they can find a need to kill it, bt by some good will from the easily duped fence-sitters with the '06 election coming?

4. Window dressing.
The "illegal" economy has no minimum wage.

So why not raise the official minimum and look like nice guys?

5. It's called getting ready for Election 2006
I suspect they're afraid of a Democratic backlash

6. Gotta Read The Whole Thing
There has GOT to be some dirty rotten trick somewhere in that bill. Maybe something like doing away with overtime provisions...oh, wait, they already did that...silly me...well, anyway, there's just gotta be something rotten in there somewhere, we gotta dig to find it.

Anyone got a bill number on that, I'd like to have a look at Thomas's on this one.
