Wilderness area opened up for oil drilling

The President has just signed a bill to open up Gulf Islands National Seashore to oil drilling. This chain of islands includes the gulf's largest concentration of bottlenose dolphins. Two of the islands are designated Wilderness areas-the most protected status.

So they snuck it in, casino interests are going to be pissed at the repukes, as will the sports fishermen. Who needs the sierra club, they have pissed off folks that rely on the clean gulf and the beautiful gulf view to survive.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no Lott amendment to the budget (S. Con. Res. 18) that does this.

This is just fantastic. I can't wait for the first oil spill to ruin what's left after they rip up the ground constructing the rigs. :sarcasm:
