Mississippi appears to have seen the light

44% approval in the latest Survey USA 50 state Bush approval polls. That's a point lower than Texas. Interestingly, the only 4 states where Bush has a 50+% approval rating are in the Great Plains and the Mountain states. None are in the South.

2. Unfortunately, I think Katrina did that more than Bush

People are more likely to see reality when it's happening to them directly than to somebody else.
