Proposal would ban cell phones in voting booths"A bill that Rep. Jim Viebrock will introduce in the Legislature would make it an election offense to use an electronic device to transmit information about your vote. That’s vague or broad language that's aimed at cell phones.
Struckhoff fears the phones could be used in a vote-buying scheme. He fears people will take a picture of their ballot to prove they voted for a certain candidate or issue -- in order to be paid for their votes."
Seems to me that taking a photo might be the ONLY way to verify your voting record. Yet, they say the ban is to prevent someone from "selling" their vote.
Should photographing your vote be allowed?
