St. Louis County picks new voting system
By Jo Mannies
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
12/21/2005

After an hour in closed session today, the St. Louis County Election Board unanimously voted to purchase its new voting system from Election Systems & Software.

ES&S has been handling the county’s punchcard operation for the past 30 years.

Board Chairman John Diehl said the details of the contract still need to be worked out, but it should be worth around $9.6 million — the amount of federal aid the county expects to receive to convert over to an upgraded voting system.
