Pregnant woman gets denied Hospital, via KC cops...
" KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A woman who miscarried her fetus a day after she was thrown in jail is suing the police department and two arresting officers who ignored her pleas for medical help.

A police videotape released Tuesday shows Sofia Salva telling officers numerous times last Feb. 5 that she was three months pregnant, bleeding and needed to go to a hospital."

The video at the link, is quite...interesting.

1. We have some very shitty cops here in KC
This more or less proves that.

2. I think there are shitty cops everywhere...
because we had them back home in SE Alaska, and McDonald County is loaded with them....

I heard this the other day on the ABC news channel out of Joplin...I noticed (after a little search) that this story was posted in GD as well. I fell for the Kansas City, Kansas thing many times...when I first got to KC, I thought ti was called KC because it was in Kansas! It tooke me a few weeks to realize that most of KC was on the Missouri side.

It was hiliarous...my first night in KC, I'm riding in the back of a cab...heading towards Lawrence, and I pass a sign that says "Welcome to Kansas"....I was like, wtf? I thought I was in KS all ready....:D

3. It's a common error

And it is compounded by the fact that there is a Kansas City in Kansas as well as in Missouri.

BTW, these cops were suspended. It is in our morning paper.

I still can't believe this happened, but in this crazy world, anything is possible....

7. Everyone here is talking about it
and everyone seems pretty outraged over it. That comment the female officer makes on the video (IIRC she says "why is that my problem?") is especially horrific.
