Discussion following the movie

Even if you have already seen SICKO now is your chance to talk with other folks who have stories to tell and want to make changes. Nationwide the response to SICKO has been overwhelming. SICKO has touched a raw nerve that has folks everywhere talking.

Tickets:

Students/low income/fixed income: $5

Adults: $8

Adults (no income/uninsured...we want you!): FREE

Donations welcome NO ONE TURNED AWAY

Join with folks from different backgrounds and talk about your experience or those you know. Never before have so many Americans said they want changes in their health care system.

Now is the time to join with others to talk about ways to make high quality health care accessible to all people in the United States.

Bring your family, friends, enemies, neighbors, church group, club members, coffee group, coworkers, or your health insurance agent.

Questions:

A multi-issue organization dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of Missourians. MASW has been active in the struggle to reverse the Missouri Medicaid cuts of 2005.

1. Hey Proud2Blib,
I tried to get some of my friends to get their ass to KC to see Sicko. They're both former teachers in Camden, Mo, and they pay a hefty $750,- in healthinsurance p/month.
So far they haven't seen it (they're waiting for it to be released on dvd) but I've pushed them numerous times.

I'm not from the States but from The Netherlands - I spend a year in high school and those people were my host-family for a year! Lovely folks, they bake their own bread, drink lots of milk and have a hummerfeeder in the yard. I've never felt more at home anywhere in the world. Gracious people who delighted in the change of culture I brought them, but also delighted in teaching me a thing or two about America.

Now, I've seen your name running around DU for some time, but I never realised you were from the area I call my second home. I'm still planning a trip to Missourah, to see my host-family before they die, or before the airlines won't fly me anymore. I'll be sure to get myself down to Overland Park for the demonstrations against the war! Aren't they on thursdays?

Bart
