KC School Board Election April 8: any info out there?
One of the foundations of Kansas City's problems is its schools, so I'm a bit surprised there isn't more press given to the upcoming school board election. Are we simply a bit too far out and can expect press coverage to pick up over the next couple months?

Anybody know of any good sources for info?

I've stumbled into the website for a candidate, Airick West:

He seems like a breath of fresh air, but I'm curious as to what all the choices are.

1. Here' something interesting about that election
They need to redraw the lines for the areas the board members represent because of the annexation by Independence. But that takes a year or more so the current districts will be on the ballot in April.

One of the board members who represents western Independence is moving to NE KC so he can run for re-election.

Yes I got an email about Airick West. He looks very promising.

I don't see much about the other races. I would suspect that once again, most board members are running unopposed.

2. To answer my own question...
I've found this article from the Star:

This is downright discouraging.

3. Yes it is discouraging
But with the constant negative news about the district, who would want to run for the board? It really isn't surprising.
