By Jo Mannies

U.S. Sen. John McCain’s Republican presidential campaign just announced tonight that supporters will hold more than 100 events across Missouri on Thursday “as part of the first ‘McCain Nation’ national event day.”

“Supporters will meet at house parties in all 50 states to recruit volunteers, organize grassroots activity, make voter contact phone calls, and register new voters.

“The Missouri events feature U.S. Senator Sam Brownback, Missouri GOP Executive Director Jared Craighead, Republican National Committee Deputy Chairman Frank Donatelli, State Senator John Greisheimer, Presiding Commissioner Ed Hillhouse, Missouri State McCain Co-Chair Jack Jackson, State Rep Mary Kasten, State Rep. Brian Nieves, Lloyd Smith (Chief of Staff to Jo Ann Emerson) and State Rep Candidate Clint Tracy.”

Similar events are being held across the country, the campaign said, as “an important step in organizing supporters at the local level. With less than 100 days until the election, John McCain’s campaign is counting on his supporters to spread his ‘Country First’ message to their local communities.”
