Pete Ricketts
It's looking like a summer and fall full of this asshole's ads. I can't wait. Through the whole build up to these primaries all you ever heard from all candidates was "Protect traditional marraige, strenghten borders, end partial birth abortion, blah blah". To me it seemed that there was no difference between all Repub hopefuls. My favorite was (Adrian Smith's I believe) were he was gonna be the guy to stand up to the liberal tax and spenders. Last I checked they control all aspects of government and blown it up through spending. All in all, they all seemed at least 2 years behind, basicly parroting every party line I've ever heard of theirs. What pisses me off is that they will still get 80% of this state to do the rank and file thing. How many people in this state are threatened by liberals or how is a multi-millionaire relate to us with his "Nebraska values"?

Apologies for the rant, and a welcome back to myself. I miss internet.

1. Yeah, this is going to be sickening
A multi-billionaire telling us about how his grandfather was a farmer so he knows something about the struggles of regular people and how evil liberal judges are holding us all back. As far as I can tell, he got into the race so that Ameritrade can manage the Social Security trust fund - now that's a Nebraska value :sarcasm:

Then he's going to tell us how much of a liberal Ben Nelson is which is the most laughable thing I've ever heard. It's amazing that Nelson has the highest rating of any senator but he's not going to win by more than 5% - if at all - completely on the strength of Rickett's gay bashing, abortion baiting and empty family values rhetoric. This guy just wants to get at our money. All these social issues are just a carrot on a stick that will sucker in way too many voters.

2. re: salt peter
I really can't stand this guy. They were interviewing him on KETV and the way his mouth moves makes me want to vomit. He acts like he is above everyone even though he tries to paint this picture that he grew up poor. The main reason he has money is because of his dad. I'm all for helping your kids out, but it bothers me when people use money they never earned to buy their way into office or whatever else they want. The sad thing is that people in Nebraska will actually vote for this guy in November. I am confused and angry. Nelson is a god compared to this guy.

rant off.
