GOP chairman taunts Werner

Ten days after the May 3 election, the chairman of the Lancaster County Republican Party sent an e-mail to ousted City Councilman Terry Werner in which he taunted Werner for losing his council seat and said "having a private eye follow you was a joy."

Haga's e-mail read, in part: "Let this be a wakeup call to you. The voters of Lincoln wisely rejected your socialist agenda. If needed, we could have addressed your driving record (having a private eye follow you was a joy), . . . and more. Had you been a good Democrat and not a socialist, you might have been re-elected."

Chairman Jim Haga acknowledged to a reporter Tuesday he wrote the e-mail "in anger" but said he regretted it. Haga declined to comment on whether he hired an investigator, saying, "I'm not going to address that . . . To me it's not even a news story."

He later told a Journal Star editor that he didn't hire a private investigator.

Reps pathetic aren't they?

you would think political victory in a state where you control already control all the centers of power would make you a little magnanimous. Not these assholes. Their desire to totally destroy rather than defeat their political enemies shows signs of some real problems in other aspects of their lives outside of politics.

this little incident seems to have outraged a lot of folks. Hopefully, it will open a few eyes to what the Republicans are all about. Here is my contribution that was printed a few days ago:

"I am writing in response to the recent article that reports that Lancaster County Republican Party Chairman Jim Haga wrote a highly inappropriate e-mail letter to former City Councilman Terry Werner after Werner lost his bid for re-election. In this message, Haga taunted Werner and stated, "having a private eye follow you was a joy." Haga later claimed in an interview that he hadn't hired a private investigator.

It is disturbing enough to learn that a leader of the Republican Party would resort to such mean-spirited and childish behavior. What is seriously troubling, however, is that Haga either used party money to spy on Werner in an attempt at character assassination, or he lied about doing so. Either action shows that Haga has problems with character himself.

I will remember which party is tolerant of such behavior among its leadership during the next election."

I don't know anything about this ummm... person. I know I have read his company has saved us by transferring Haga to another state. I think I have read he is going to Denver. I would like to know where in Lincoln he is employed and I will call the company...let them know how I feel about their loose cannon....and never again use their services.

If Haga needed to act this way - let's get to his keepers and hold the entire mess accountable.

Anybody have any person info on this puke? He doesn't travel in my circles....
