Republican says Nelson should back Alito, or else
Nebraska Senate candidate Don Stenberg (R) warned Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) yesterday that he can expect to get hammered if he votes against Judge Samuel Alito’s Supreme Court nomination.

“It’s a very important issue,” said Stenberg, who is running against Ameritrade executive Pete Ricketts and former Nebraska Republican Party Chairman David Kramer in May’s GOP primary.

“I think if Senator Nelson is not supportive of putting judges on the bench who will not legislate from the bench it will be very important,” said Stenberg, who served as Nebraska’s attorney general from 1991 to 2003 and has argued cases before the Supreme Court three times.

Kramer, referring to Nelson, added, “I don’t think he can afford for political reasons to oppose a nominee like Judge Alito.”

3. My favorite story about Stenberg took place when he was running
a few years back.
My mother & I went to a Husker's game & he was campaigning on campus.
When we started to walk by him he walked toward us to shake hands.
My mom, my 70 year old, sweet mom, looked at him with disgust on her face & said "don't touch me".
I about fell over laughing at the look on his face.
I love my liberal mom!

4. I was there that day
I passed him by without saying anything or shaking his hand, but I wish I would have done that instead!

5. Sad, but I'm sure Ben's feeling the pressure to give in.
And that pressure isn't just coming from the RWing. I bet Dems are letting him know this is a possible thorn in the side.

6. If that frigging fruit loop Stenberg could have his way he'd put a needle
in the arm of everyone ever caught at a crime, starting with jaywalking and working his way up. Mr. Stenberg loves the smell of death at midnight. He probably gets all hot and sweaty just thinking about it.

Screw him. And Nebraska republicans. They're the most backward bunch of hicks in the sticks that ever inhabited this planet. What rankles them the most? That maybe women, blacks, and Hispanics might get uppity and a'thinking that they're as good as they are.

THIS PLACE IS HELL.
