OFF-STRIP CASINO INCIDENTS: Shootings injure two men
Edited on Wed Jan-11-06 05:52 PM by derby378
In separate incidents Tuesday, security guards confronted armed men in front of two valley casinos.

At the Gold Coast, a robber shot a security guard in the leg when the guard tried to thwart his escape, and later in the day Boulder Station security guards took a man into custody after he shot his former roommate in the leg at the bus stop in front of the casino while trying to make citizen's arrest, police said.

About 6:30 a.m., a man wearing a red and white baseball cap, a dark sports coat and what appeared to be a "jheri curl" wig robbed one of the roving cashiers inside the Gold Coast at 4000 W. Flamingo Road.

As the bandit ran through the casino parking lot, a security guard in a marked truck attempted to cut him off.

The confrontation was captured by the casino's surveillance cameras, and the videotape shows the robber clasping the bag of stolen money in one hand and a gun in the other, which he fired five times at the casino guard. One bullet struck the guard.
