Bradley won't take a stand on Social Security
http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/06122005/news/47184.htm

>>>He held a town hall meeting at Rye Public Library Saturday morning to hear the concerns of about 50 residents on everything from Social Security to minimum wage.

"I hold these town meetings because it gives me the opportunity to talk to people from my congregational district, and that helps me do my job better," Bradley said.

The biggest issue on the chopping block was Social Security. Concerned residents and members of the New Hampshire Citizens Alliance questioned Bradley’s "waffling" or "flip-flopping" when it comes to the federal retirement benefit. Some went as far as to wear plastic waffles on their shirts and hats.>>>

Bradley said that the private accounts won't do anything to deal with the issue of SS solvency. He also reluctantly said that he won't take a position on SS until a piece of legislation is on the table.

He's on record in 2000 and 2002 (during his campaigns) as being against the private accounts - hence the charge of waffling.

1. " He added if something isnt done about the program now, Social Security
... will be bankrupt by 2041."

Repeating Dubya's lie about Social Security.

2. Yup
At one town hall meeting he made the mistake of asking the audience what year SS was going to be in trouble.

He didn't make that mistake again!
