Anyone up for a New Jersey DU meetup
I'd love to make this thing a reality, just have it somewhere where people from all points in NJ can meet, and we'd have a winner

2. I'm bad at organizing events, I think I'll let someone else do it
Perhaps one of the people from Hamilton or something could orchestrate it, it is in the middle of the state.

4. I'm in Mercer Co.
I'd love to meet everyone also. My apartment is kind of small. Maybe we could meet for dinner somewhere. I guess a Saturday or a Sunday would be best. Anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?

5. That would be awesome...
I'm in Mercer too (Hamilton) I'm trying to think of a place that could accomodate us...preferably someplace that allows people under 21 in (since I am 2 months shy of my 21st b-day)...weekends are also preferable because of school/work obligations.

7. Best burgers in the county
can only be had Mon-Sat, lunch time only. Best pizza restaurant in the world(in Trenton we call it tomato pie) has no bathroom( and is closes Sundays and Mondays). The best all round restaurant is where all the politicians and newspaper folks meet to tease each other, pricey but great food and great service.

If there are ten or less I will cook and can host it in my humble apartment, I will cook whatever you want.

last but not least...Princeton U has many lectures that can be attended by anyone, Dem's pugs Christians Buddhists atheists and everyone else.

But I don't know a great place to eat in Princeton.

lets do this soon. I am moving to upstate NY in the spring.

18. Ernie's Tavern in Robbinsville.
Open Tuesday-Saturday burgers are served lunch time only 11:30-2:00

Best burgers around.

Do you know the area? I could send you a map.

We should tap into our Dem networks and see if there are any good Dem-owned restaurants somewhere in central Jersey.

There is a pretty accommodating and cheap bar/restaurant called the Annex. Pretty sure age is not an issue there. http://www.restaurant.com/microsite.asp?rid=308160

There are a few other bar/restos, generally more upscale and one that would be ideal except it is generally too noisy (Triumph Brewery) :( .

There is a smallish Starbucks, a medium-sized Panera, a local-owned cafe called Small World Coffee.

All of these potential venues are within a few blocks of each other (the main drag here is kinda short). Also, the town just completed a brand new, large (for here) parking garage.

Rt. 1 runs through Mercer co with the usual mess o' mall-based food operations (about 5 malls in 2 miles).

For big big options, New Brunswick is more like a small city.

Whatever happened to a real DU Meetup (i.e. via meetup.com)?

What if we did "pot luck" and everyone brought something so you wouldn't have to do so much work?

People will say they are coming and then not show up for whatever reason. I'll bet for starters we do 10 or less.

I think the Annex sounds like a good idea. We should do it on a Saturday this month, perhaps the 29th would sound good.

we can call ahead and block out some adjacent tables. They seem pretty informal.

32. Big street brawl outside the Annex yesterday. Really.
If was on the front page of one of our local papers. complete with a photo of the intersection showing the Annex Restaurant. Nothing to worry about though. Princeton is a relatively safe town.

34. WTF?
thats really strange! I've never heard of stuff like this going down in Princeton. My friends and I hang out there all the time I've never thought of it other than a safe little college town. My dad works for the Trentonian and he was telling me about a lot of gang activity going on at Princeton High School lately. He was sent there a few weeks ago to take a picture for a cover story that they were doing.
