Pay to Play Reform Legislation Passes 34-0 in Senate
The New Jersey Senate voted 34-0 to approve pay to play reform legislation today. Six Senators did not vote: Republicans Anthony Bucco, Henry McNamara, Walter Kavanaugh and Joseph Palaia, and Democrats Raymond Lesniak and Nicholas Sacco.

“This is a good day for the citizens of New Jersey, and for everyone who values integrity in government," said Acting Gov. Richard Codey, who is expected to sign the bill. "I’m proud of my colleagues in the Senate – both Republicans and Democrats – who today chose to do the right thing for the people we represent. This is an important victory. A permanent ban on pay-to-play is critical to genuine ethics reform. And now the Senate joins the Assembly in standing up for the changes that need to be made.” (02/28/05)
