"The State of the Nation" at Princeton University (Apr 7)
The
Nation magazine is staging on the Princeton campus on Thursday, April
7.

As part of our efforts to re-engage with student activists and
journalists, the magazine--America's oldest and currently largest
liberal weekly--is planning numerous campus-based events nationwide and
we're starting out at Princeton in two weeks.

We're sending our editor Katrina vanden Heuvel as well as author and
reporter William Greider (both of whom are alums) to campus to meet
with student groups, host a reception. and make an appearance at The
U-Store with an evening panel discussion capping it all off.

The panel in the evening, co-sponsored by numerous groups, is meant to
be a conversation between students and our panelists on what we at the
Nation argue is the tragic and perilous direction the current
Administration is taking this country. vanden Heuvel, is particular,
will discuss material from her recent book, Taking Back America And
Taking Down the religious Right.

We were hoping you might let your community know about the event.
Anything you can do to drum up interest would be much appreciated.
Details on the event are below We're also likely to add Cornel West to
the panel but I don't have confirmation yet so don't want to mention
him at this point. I should have word on that by next week, and if we
get him we can send out the notice again then. Thanks, in advance, for
any help you can offer, and please let me know if there's ever any way
we at The Nation could be of assistance.
All Best,
Peter Rothberg
