How strong of candidate is Kean?
Edited on Wed Mar-30-05 12:51 PM by nickshepDEM
Ive been discussing the NJ 2006 Senate race at a neutral board and alot of Republicans are claiming Kean will be the favorite. Espeically if the Democrat is a North Jersey Democrat like Menendez. They say Andrews would be the best if not the only shot for the Democrats to keep this seat. What are your thoughts on this race?

1. Kean was a very popular governor
and considered a moderate Republican, he could be tough.

5. Im not that familiar with NJ polticis. Is the Kean name really...

held that high up? Ive been argueing with some NJ residents (Republicans) at another forum and they seem to think Kean Jr. is unbeatable. Especially if Corzine appoints a Democrat from North Jersey like, Pallone or Menendez. They say our only shot is Rep. Andrews, but it is highly unlikely that he will be appointed by Corzine or win the primary.

6. He's a moderate...
and his daddy was a popular moderate. The only Repubs that have a shot are the moderates, just look at what happened to Forester and Schundler on the state level.
