Doug Forrester on Homeland Security I

Doug Forrester is the Republican candidate for governor of New Jersey and my regular readers know how many times I have decried the lack of substance on Doug Forrester's campaign web site. Today I begin a three part series in which I look at the Forrester policy statement on Homeland Security. Please note that I am dealing with the statement released by his campaign on August 23, 2005.

Here's what Doug Forrester has to say about homeland security:


In 2001 New Jersey lost over nine hundred citizens to terrorism, and we must do everything in our power to ensure such tragedy never repeats itself


Actually, New Jersey lost about seven hundred citizens to the attacks on the WTC and the other two plane crashes/attacks. The Forrester web site has been corrected since they issued this statement, but this reminds me of the property tax calculator that the Forrester site used to have to show you how much money you would get back under the Forrester plan. The calculator kept spitting out incorrect numbers, was "fixed" at least once, and finally completely removed from his site.
