2. i prefer downtown too
Do you have a suggestion for a bar that has relatively cheap drinks, is near a subway, and won't mind a bunch of drunken dems on a saturday?

3. All the good East Village places are so far from the subway
And are pretty cramped, too. :P Maybe the best bet is to stick with that one since a lot of DUers have been there before.

5. ruby somethings on 8th up a few blocks from port authority.....
it's cheap and weird and it stinks of beer, and they have a back yard where you can smoke with a beer in hand.
last time i was there a meeting of the mustache club of ny was going on.
also, drinking liberally has been there. so they're used to this stuff.
and i think being near times sq/ PA is pretty democratic.

12. they say they open before 8 am, too.
the guy on the phone says they never close...
i just thought that the location is convieneint for travellers, not so hard to get to Penn, Grand Central or Port Authority from there.

13. How about a totally anti-Bush bar -donated receipts to Democratic Party?
There is a really cool bar in Brooklyn, just across the Manhattan Bridge with a subway station staircase literally outside its door.

Moe's has a wonderful multi-racial vibe, is owned by two young dynamic women, and best of all, is very progressive and anti-Bush. There are a few funny posters of Bush looking stupid, and in the weeks before the election last fall, the owners donated a percentage of receipts to the Kerry campaign (or it might have been the Democratic Party).

Great food is literally steps away -- Japanese, Vietnamese, Soul Food, South African, West African, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Italian, French -- anything you could want.

Moe's is in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn next to the Layfeyette Stop.

14. buyBlue actBlue Moe's sounds good

http://activefreemedia.org/bushwack/index.php?add=1

We will give you a list of common and random items to find around the area. Bring back as many items as you can find by 5pm. There will be a great party at Moe'sfollowing the event.

there are a lot of review/promo sites you can google , the only negative of the few I looked at was the place can be loud

IF Moe's is the place then they need to be presented with a DU sticker/+poster

15. As much as I would love to have it in Brooklyn...
The subway service is so messed up between Brooklyn and Manhattan on the weekends, it might make it a pain for a lot of people and confusing for out-of-towners.

20. LMAO!
Yes, that's what I call him from time to time. What's his name. Tee hee. Mark and I both will be there. Looking forward to seeing you. If you feel like, we are renting a place with a pool in the Hampton's for that week. I think Stephanie is coming out on the 4th and staying the night. You are more than welcome to join us any time that week.

24. Seeking confirmation -- June 11, 3:30pm, Rudy's?
If others are planning to attend, I'll probably stop by, but I wanted to confirm that these meetup arrangements have become definite:

Rudy's Bar & Grill Jazz Juke Box
627 Ninth Ave, NY
(between 44th and 45th Streets)

Saturday, June 11, 3:30 pm

So, is this actually happening?

25. Aloha! Just got into NYC
hadn't responded to this because I thought we'd be at Mom and Repuke Man's place down the Jersey Shore over the weekend.

Now, however, it appears we might go down Sunday instead... so party on!

I didn't bring an aloha shirt or anything to identify myself; would a "Partners in Policymaking Hawaii" button do? :-)
