How does the signal range and clarity of WLIB compare with WABC and WWOR?

1. In Princeton WLIB not as good - WOR & ABC much stronger

It's pretty scratchy reception depending on weather and other interference. Sometimes good, but never as good as other stations that are spewing the hate & distraction almost everytime I tune in to check up on them. It would be wise for AAR to invest in some signal boosting. Atlanta's a great station for that. It seems as if CBS & ESPN are ckear from NJ to NC (a drive I take sometimes).

2. I can pick up WLIB
in West Virginia. If I get on top of a mountain I can pick it up on my car's AM radio at night. Oddly, I also pick up another station that broadcasts on 1190AM out of Indiana and unfortunatly it's a Faux radio station.

6. transmitter POWER
transmitter POWER

the NY station Wlib broadcasts with 1/5 the transmitting power of WABC

. WLIB is the last daytime only station in New York to become “full time” by operating with 30,000 Watts at night and 10,000 Watts daytime. This was also made possible by the fact that co-channel WOWO in Fort Wayne, Indiana was bought for the specific purpose of changing it from class I-B clear channel to a class II-B channel at all hours

Elias Godofsky started WLIB as New York City’s second commercial AM classical music station. Godofsky, who would later start up another AM (WHLI in Hempstead, Long Island) sold WLIB to the New York Post newspaper then WLIB was sold to New Broadcasting Company and became New York City’s first station to tailor its programs to the black audience. Now did Murdoch aka FOX own the post at this time? it will take some more digging to find out , but it is interesing

7. 30,000 is pretty good power.
If it's really doing it at night, it should be heard far and wide.
Can we confirm?

BTW, it's WOR, not WWOR.

WWOR is Ch 9 TV, which used to be WOR.

But the radio station is still WOR, owned by Buckley Broadcasting.
Any relation to Wm. F? It's NOT right wing all the time, but neither is he, esp. going by today's wingnuts!
