1. The Siena poll says the reverse: 39/53 in Sweeney's favor

Which I find very odd. It should be noted that the Siena poll (taken 10/16-17) had only 630 respondents. The good news is that Sweeney's 19-point lead in the August poll narrowed to 14 points so Kirsten is still trending up. Her unknowns are still high compared to Sweeney and it looks like his lead will continue to shrink as folks become more aware of her. Of course, there's also the hard-to-measure coattails of Spitzer and Clinton to contend with. I am optimistic.

edit: math

2. and Global Strategies Group says...
A poll conducted by the Global Strategies Group showed Kirsten Gillibrand with a 44 to 42 percent lead, a statistical dead-heat. With 18 days before Election Day this is an early validation that the campaign’s positive message of change is resonating with the voters in Upstate New York. National publications such as Congressional Quarterly, and the the New York Times, have seen the results as well and have moved this race into the “No Clear Favorite,” and “Toss-up” categories respectively.

At one point Gillibrand was behind 52-37.
