Meet State Senate candidate Daniel Squadron (SD-25) on July 28
As we look forward to the prospects for change in Washington as a result of the Fall election, we should remember that there’s also an opportunity to change things for the better here in New York. In November, we will also be voting for members of the State Legislature, and have a good chance of winning control of the Republican-led State Senate for the first time in over 30 years.

To shake things up in Albany however, requires more than simply replacing Republicans with Democrats. We need to make sure our representatives are dedicated to reforming the way Government works

To that end, I'd like to invite you to join my wife and me on Monday, July 28th at 6:30 PM for a get-together with Daniel Squadron, who’s running for the Democratic nomination for State Senate in the 25th District (Lower East Side, Lower Manhattan, Battery Park City, Brownstone Brooklyn). (please note - this is not a fundraiser, and no contributions are being requested). The get-together will be at our house in Brooklyn Heights.

Daniel is a former aide to (and has been endorsed by) Senator Charles Schumer. Daniel was on the team that designed the New York City Empowerment Schools program, which shifts money out of the bureaucracy and into the classroom, where it belongs. He also was Communications Director on the campaign that successfully passed the New York State Transportation Bond Act, a $2.9 billion investment in rebuilding our public transit system. Passage of the Act helped break three decades of gridlock to make the Second Avenue Subway a reality. Daniel is running on a platform of fighting for campaign finance reform (he’s not taking contributions from PAC’s, corporations or Albany lobbyists) and increased transparency and accountability in the ways our State Legislature does business. He also wants to work for a continued improvement in our education system and bringing better organization and planning to the City’s community development projects.

This is your opportunity to chat, ask questions, and discuss with Daniel and your neighbors the issues facing New York in the coming two years.

We hope you can join us. Please RSVP to: cfbastian@gmail.com if you can attend.
