A Queens grand jury has indicted State Senator Hiram Monserrate on felony assault charges.
The six-count indictment includes three felony charges of second-degree assault.
Officials say the former city councilman will be arraigned later this week.
Monserrate was arrested last year on felony assault charges after prosecutors say he smashed a glass over his girlfriends face, sending her to the hospital to receive stitches.
If convicted and removed from the Senate, the Democrats would lose their Majority (not that it's made much difference so far)
