My NC Democratic Party sent me this SHIT to get me to come to FINRA EVENT!

They sent me a promotion...heavy weight/four color brochure from FINRA alerting me that I could be prey to "Investment Scams" and on September 21, I should show up to an event to "alert Senior Citizens to Investment Scams" sponsered by Our Government...FINRA and our North Carolina Democratic Secretary of State Elaine Marshall (who, I thought was a PROGRESSIVE!)

Hubby and I were appalled...that we should be on such a mailing list from our Dem Sec. of State. We went to the Website listed in the brochure and found out it was targeted to Military Families with another link to target 55+ year old CHINESE (Senior Citizen) FAMILIES!

I am so disgusted that Obama and our Congress approved FUNDS FOR THIS SCAM...that I'm :banghead: and worse.

Anyway, here's the deal...Summers and Geithner are telling Obama to try to get everyone they can to INVEST...INVEST...Old CHINESE...People who some CRAP PROGRAM identified as indigent Americans in the South who might be Scammed (NOT KOKO or her HUBBY) and make sure they ATTEND THIS PROGRAM so they can choose the CORRECT/UNCORRUPTED INVESTMENT ADVISOR!

http://www.finrafoundation.org/web/groups/foundation/@f... Foundation-funded research, unveiled in July 2006, shattered the stereotypes of senior investment fraud victims. The fraud victim profile was counterintuitive in many respects. For instance, victims were often financially knowledgeable men.

In addition, the influence tactics used by fraudsters were shown to be sophisticated and highly effective. These findings forced regulators and advocates alike to rethink how best to approach the challenge of equipping older investors with the tools and information they need to thwart fraudsters touting investment scams.

The FINRA Foundation subsequently initiated a research-based, social change campaign designed to reduce the incidence of investment fraud among investors ages 55 and over by helping them:

* Recognize they are vulnerable to financial fraud
* Identify persuasion techniques
* Reduce risky behaviors by asking questions and checking information.

And THIS was the MAILER I got: (btw...it was targeted to Military Families...Hubby and I are NOT Military Families)

1. The 55 and over group needs to be protected from the Greedy Christians and Republican operatives.
Do they have a brochure for that?

2. You couldn't be more wrong
I don't even know where to start.

I don't know what your hang up is against Chinese people, but I'm not even going to go there.

First, I suppose, is that FINRA is not a government agency. It is funded by the securities industry -- the brokers and brokerages it regulates. It was granted authority by the government to create and enforce rules against brokers. They are the regulators. They are a nonprofit organization and not in the business of getting you to invest.

They are in the business of protecting you from investment fraud, and are boosting their efforts -- from what I can tell -- becaues of the lax regulatory environment the Bushies encouraged.

SaveAndInvest.org appears to be a web site sponsored by the Finra Investor Education Foundation, which grants money to researchers and other non profits committed to financial literacy -- a very good cause in my book.

I don't know a lot about their programs, but I do know that Finra regularly goes around the country and puts on live investor forums for people to come and learn how to spot fraud and protect themselves.

Believe me, anyone, even KoKo can be defrauded.
