For shame! Turnout less than 8% in Durham county!
Bill Bell, Cora McFadden, Howard Clement, Mike Woodard won the Durham City races -- but I'm shocked by the low turnout

1. I tried to vote.
Turns out you can't vote if you live in the county and not city.

2. Durham county is confusing. And some Durham county voters actually vote for Chapel Hill candidates.
You need this webpage: http://www.co.durham.nc.us/departments/elec/Poll_and_Precinct_Information.html

The pdf is handy: I download the latest version every year or so

3. Thank you.
We did look, but hurriedly. When we went to the polls our names were not on the rolls. That's when we found out there was no one for us to vote for in our district for those of us out here in the boonies.

6. This is not unusual
not that many folks are engaged in politics on the local level, there's not as much
media coverage to assist folks in making the decisions.

even with the low turnout, we must have elections, the more frequent the better as per our
state constitution.

when there's controversy at the local level, more folks turnout.

Don't be alarmed. It is normal. If you want more people to vote, give them information
that helps them want to do it.

7. I read we had 25% turnout for the previous election.
There weren't any exciting elections. Just incumbants that were sure to win.
