June 13&14 Greensboro- Nut that pickets soldiers funerals

The "preacher" whose group protests at soldiers funerals is coming to Greensboro.

Fred Phelps, leader of a "church" known for picketing at the funerals of soldiers
killed in Iraq - has scheduled protests in downtown Greensboro on June 13 and 14th.

I confirmed that this is true with the Greensboro Police Dept.
I don't know if there are any local funerals for soldiers killed in Iraq.
Does anyone know of any?

In Fargo, North Dakota - a group of bikers called the "Patriot Guardian Riders" created a human shield to keep Phelps' group out of the site of the grieving family and friends at one funeral.

I haven't heard if there will be a soldier's funeral.

That is what I worry about.

web site and there doesn't appear to be a funeral either of those days. I'm certain they would mention it, if there were one, but I could be wrong.

What I want to know is, how does he have the $$$ to travel and protest, and bring as many "family" members as he does? Who's bankrolling all that hatred. :shrug:

WUNC reported this morning that Condi is coming to address the SBC, so that might be why he's here NOW, specifically.

Now, It would be worth it for us-types to picket HER and if we happen to run into Phelps, so much the better.
