Election Returns Party: Satisfaction's in Durham

Come out to Satisfactions in Durham's Brightleaf Square next Tuesday night and watch Election returns come in with us!

Our very own Triana, has reserved their private room with big screen TV for us. So come celebrate with us! I'll be there, and if you're around, come on over! :D

but he is travelling now to Minnesota to see his mother who is very sick, so I'm home alone. It will be great to come hang out with fellow DUers.

I know nothing of that technology since I don't watch TV at home. If I remember correctly, they had one of those flat-panel units in there (HDTV, no?) It's not a *huge* screen but big enough to watch Dems clean the House!! I thought of bringing a broom since it will be (we hope) a DU Housecleaning Party! Mwahahaaa!

the private room should be cool, but the bar is better. I'll be over in orange county watching returns in my own private bar, but you guys be sure to tip yer server and thank Staton (the owner) for making the place available!

...and stayed behind to clean up and thanked her for doing such a great job! I don't believe I've ever met Staton but we certainly appreciated having that room and the HDTV! It was awesome! Whenever we use that room, we always buy food/drink, tip well, and try to clean up a bit after. Satisfaction is so generous to let folks use that room, we like to be appreciative guests.

Everyone who RSVP'd showed, I think - AND - just as we left around 11:00 - MSNBC announced that DEMOCRATS HAD SWEPT THE HOUSE!! WooooooooooooHooooooooooooooo!

It was the PERFECT ENDING to our DU Housecleaning Party! WE CLEANED THE HOUSE! Mwahahahahaaaa!

It couldn't have ended better - well, except that MSNBC coulda announced that Dems took the SENATE too! But, oh well. I'm not complaining too much!

If not, no biggie. My laptop is kind of a dinosaur anyway when it comes to finding the wireless connection.

...they do have wifi but said it might be 'iffy' in the back meeting room where we'll be. We'll see. I plan on bringing my laptop, just in case. Might be possible for one of us to grab a table in the dining area to update things on DU. We'll have to play that part by 'ear' (or, 'wire'(less) as the case may be). If anyone else has a laptop they'd like to bring please do! Mine tends to be ornery with some wireless setups even when it's available.

Our reservation is confirmed from 8:00 - 11:00 tomorrow night and I'm told the television in the room is an HDTV with all basic cable channels.

I'll let you all decide which channel(s) we'll watch, as I haven't had cable since 2001 and am no longer familiar with the various news channels or which ones are best to watch. I used to watch CSPAN because I really HATE all the talking heads and pundits - arrrgghh! But do they have decent election returns coverage? I dunno anymore.

So, we're set to go, folks! I hope we can make this an awesome DU Housecleaning Party!!

....still got my fingers crossed. It seems like the networks really don't want to admit Dems may take the Senate too. I notice none are actually saying that. Poor things. But hey, at LEAST we got the House and gained seats in the Senate, (even if we don't get the Senate). So some of the filth in our house has been swept out - LOTS of it, actually.

AND that bassackwards, neanderthal abortion ban bill in SD was soundly DEFEATED too!
