How did your voting experience go?
I voted last week in Boone. There were quite a few people there - seems that early voting has been steady. I met a couple from New Hampshire who had just moved down here within the last year... 2 more Northeasterners here in the South, helping us turn bluer! Everything went smoothly, and I used the optical scan ballots. I'll be interested to hear how it went for others in NC! We'll be celebrating tomorrow!

1. Very smoothly in Cary...but the Voting sign on Davis Dr./Morrisville Pkwy
was pointed in the wrong direction...of course I alerted them of that.

2. No problems at all where I was in Greensboro.
It took me less than 5 minutes . I don't even think I was there (at the polling station) that long.

3. All was well at my precinct in W-S
I went to vote at 8:50 this morning. I had my voter registration card handy, but several people were able to just give their name to receive their ballot. There were using optical scan machines there too, but I'm hopeful. In the end, I was #156 to submit my ballot.

Here's hoping we have good news tonight!

4. voted in Cornelius this morning
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 11:48 AM by Bill219
no problems...the poll workers appeared to be on top of things

did not have to present any ID because they had you fill out a slip of paper with your name and address
and then you presented that slip of paper to a worker who looked you up in the voter register

the machine was quite easy to use and I felt a little better that I could keep an eye on the enclosed paper slip that recorded my votes.

5. Everything well in my part of Greensboro.
The voting machine had a nice receipt that printed up on the left hand side when I voted. I at least was able to make sure that registered how I had voted. Whether the electronic part did I do not know. I got in and out in under six minutes. I was pleased.

6. Other than almost having to swim to the building,
all went well. I was number 66 to slide my ballot into the little machine. In this tiny little community, that is a pretty high turnout for 10:30 A.M. I just hope my little neighborhood goes Democrat this time. I'm so tired of living in a red little neighborhood. :eyes:

7. No problems here. In and out in 5 minutes.
PAC guy outside said turnout was running about the same as '04.
Which has to a good sign for an off-year election!

11. not as good as expected
I was told that no questions about the ballot would be answered by election officials. When I persisted, saying, but I have a q about the Instructions to Voter on the (opti-scan) ballot, they said nope, sorry, cannot talk about the ballot at any time. ;(
