Vernon Robinson Says Congressional Run May Be His Last

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Vernon Robinson says his loss to Brad Miller in the 13th District congressional race may be his last run at political office.

Speaking to The Associated Press today, Robinson says he's been on the campaign trail since 2001 and that, quote, "It's getting old."

Robinson says that you never say never, but he adds that he doesn't have any future political plans.

Robinson lost yesterday's congressional bid by nearly two-to-one against incumbent Miller. It was Robinson's second failed bid for Congress.

While Robinson has twice won election to the Winston-Salem city council, he failed in a re-election bid in 2005 after erecting a one-ton monument of the Ten Commandments in front of City Hall. City workers removed the monument.

He's also come up short in about ten other bids for office, including state superintendent of public instruction, the state House and his local board of education.

as an african american, may i say that i hope i never have to clap eyes on alan keyes, kenneth blackwell or vernon robinson ever again.

Could it be true that his reign of tyrranny be coming to an end ? Living in W-S, I've had my fill of him for many years- too many to count.
