http://www.cleveland.com/search/index.ssf?/base/news/1134466608254750.xml?nnusa&coll=2Washington - Rep. Steve LaTourette and six other House Republican moderates will be targets this week of hard-hitting television ads that slam their recent votes for a budget bill that would curb spending on various social programs.
The campaign is being run by a coalition of labor, religious and liberal interest groups that also is planning prayer vigils, newspaper ads, and other protests the groups say are aimed at persuading the lawmakers to switch their votes when a final version of the bill comes to the House.
The script for the commercial in LaTourette's district, unveiled Monday at a news conference, accuses the Concord Township Republican of voting to "slash health care for struggling Ohio families, to cut college loans for middle-class kids, and to take food off the tables of poor children."...
The other Republicans targeted in the television ad campaign this week are: Jo Ann Emerson of Missouri, Jerry Weller of Illinois, Jim Nussle of Iowa, Sherwood Boehlert of New York, Michael Castle of Delaware and Joe Schwarz of Michigan.

Targeting Chabot
Democrats are unveiling a new TV ad this week attacking a member of Congress from Cincinnati.
But the ads aren't attacking Schmidt, who has drawn criticism for her comments about Murtha on the House floor a week ago. These ads attack Rep. Steve Chabot, R-Westwood.
The 60-second ads feature a man and a woman at the breakfast table talking about the recently passed budget, which makes cuts to a number of federal programs...
That bill passed 217-215 with every "yes" vote coming from a Republican. Similar ads are running in Columbus and northeast Ohio targeting Republican Reps. Deborah Pryce and Steve LaTourette.
