SO PROUD OF OHIO TONIGHT!!
Way to go y'all!!! You are now Blue, (except for the idiots in District 2 that put Schmidthead back in DC.)

Glad to have helped this election cycle with my overseas ballot. :) I'll be leaving you for VA or PA in January. Godspeed, now let some good things happen with your new Gov. Ted and Senator Sherrod.

4. The "Rust-belt" got some much needed grease tonight.
I'm up in Michigan and lived in Ohio for a few weeks last year and I must say I'm really happy to see Strickland and Brown won and Blackwell went down in flames.

MI: Granholm & Stabenow WON
OH: Strickland & Brown WON
PA: Rendell & Casey WON

Great night and gives the Dems a much better chance in 2008.

5. Hamilton County went for Wulsin
She hasn't conceded... the results are fascinating.

I'm really surprised at the margin in OH-1.

This part of the state didn't feel "the wave" as strongly as the rest of you did, but damn, what an evening, what a night for OHIO!!!

:bounce:

8. Right about now Ken Blackwell is calling the head of Diebold
and screaming at him. "HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?!?!?!?"

I truly expected some really dirty tricks yesterday, fortunately the Strickland and Brown's leads were too big for them to convincingly steal it. And as for Pryce and Chabot, if they truly are "moderates," maybe they'll take this as a hint.

BTW, this was the first election in which candidates I voted for actually won!

10. How could it happen?
A margin so giant not even dirty trickery could overcome it.

That and the fact that Crackwell is too huge a nutjob even for Republicans.

:kick: :kick: :kick: :kick: :kick:
I think I'm high on "blue". Celebrated and "woo hoo'd" well into the wee hours of the morning. My son and husband worked our local polls and they said they were busy CONSTANTLY. Maybe had a three minute break here and there. It was even raining here off and on all day so it looks like the dems proved that old saying wrong.....you know the one "if it's raining the democrats stay home". Well, we didn't and we kicked the repukes nasty ass butts to the curb. :bounce: :toast:

The county I grew up in even voted for Ted and Sherrod by a significant majority. I am glad that Ohioans voted for their interests this time and realize that the Republicans aren't on their side.

17. Ohio finally got it right...
At one point last night I damn neared cried.

I worked my ass off as Sherrod Browns County Coordinator and helped out as much as possible for Zack Space and Jennifer Garrison (my state rep). My local Dem party had their shit together tonight and it showed. My WHOLE family got involved; my mom and I made lit drops the day of the election and I served as a poll watcher, my brother and father worked the poll and my uncle made GOTV calls all day.

We won this because we learned how to GOTV and how to frame the issues!

For the first time in a long time I am proud to be an Ohioan!

Besides Sherrod Brown, Ohio State Football, the song by Neil Young, and Great Lakes Christmas Ale, this comic is another reason for myself to have Ohio Pride.

33. Warren County is extremely red but...
the demographics are slowly changing. Mason, located in Warren County, has one of the best school districts in the state (ranked 6th academically out of 620 school districts in the state). We now have an active Democratic Party in the county, something that has been evolving since 2004. It is tough living here as a progressive but I am having fun right know, especially since November 7! What we need in Warren County are some Democrats to run for local offices. I think we will see that emerge in 2007 - 2008.
