4. Do you know anything about the State Democratic Party?
Have you heard anything about the Democrat running against Boehner in the Ohio 8th Congressional District?

A member of my family is interested in that race. Thanks if you can provide some information.

6. The county democratic parties in Boehner's district are pretty weak.
Even when we had Obama organizers come in for the presidential race, they didn't do much to support local candidates.

Boehner hasn't had a viable challenger in the six years I've lived here.

FWIW, here's Schreyer's website:

35. Yes I Met Him Last Week-Justin Coussoule 35 Years Old Energetic Democrat!
I spoke to him about his stance on health care reform, he expressed to me he was a supporter of the public option and really seems to be a young, idealistic candidate, yet without grassroots support his chances are slim.

He has no problem raising tremendous amounts of money. Look at what his opponents have done in the last five elections.
A dem has little chance in that district.

12. Salem Ohio here
Am originally from Hamilton. I have alot of family there, and the Democratic Party is pretty weak in that area. I wish someone could get Boehner out of there, he is such a joke. From what my sister tells me people are beginning to question his actions, even in the heavily Republican area. So that is a good sign for a challenger.

31. Centerville, just south of Dayton
I live the the idilic suburban sprawl of Centerville, OH. It takes about 20 min of relentless driving for me to get down to Dayton. It's nice out here. However, we have not been able to get a decent Democratic candidate for Congressional rep of this district. I'd love to run, but I don't have $$$$ and I would not want to sell my soul to big-monied special interest groups. I mean, I guess I could go down to the Democratic Party office and ask about it. I can't do any worse than the last two candidates we ran. Are there any other libs who live in the South Dayton area?

30. Oh, yeah. Also lesbians.
We have lots of lesbians, too. And a guy who was a regional director for Repower America (and now works for the Ohio Democratic Party) lives down the street.

There's a few libertarians and a smattering of Republicans, but otherwise it's a sea of blue.

Oddly, the other demographic quirk about my neighborhood is that it seems to be full of blond girls. Chances are if someone has a child, it's a blond girl. My son bucked the odds through his gender, but he's also blond.

37. Mason, OH...
next door to West Chester, OH, home of Congressman Boehner aka Boner, (8th Congressional District). We are in the 2nd Congressional District with Mean Jean Schmidt.

Some wonderful facts about Mason and Warren County: the last Democrat to hold office in the county was in 1981, it is 75% republican and north Warren County and Clinton County are home to many white supremacists. The only good thing going for Mason is its school system, one of the best in the State. Academically the school system is ranked 8th by the state for public school systems.

39. Tea party downtown Akron 4\14\10 @ 6PM
I am completely new to DU & am grateful to be here.
I am from Akron, Oh. Tomorrow the tea baggers are going to be downtown & I am hoping that if someone reads this message & can attend this thing that I'll have some people to stand with on the opposing side of this false patriotism convention. I'll be doing so whether I'm alone or not- but it would be great to meet with some like minds & is the whole reason I joined here on DU.

Please give me a shout if anyone has any suggestions or can show up tomorrow,

Sincerely,

David
