SB5: EXTREME Kasich tactic requires EXTREME PUSHBACK
Edited on Wed Mar-02-11 10:14 PM by BillORightsMan
The OH Senate PASSED SB5 today. I wrote my OH House Rep Lorraine Fende today, where SB5 goes to next for passage then Hosni Kasich's signature, to wit:

Hello Rep Fende!

As your constituent I urge you to take EXTREME ACTION to STOP the vote on SB5 in the OH House. This is an open attack on not just public unions but ALL unions and working people of Ohio. If it is necessary to prevent a quorum in the OH House as the Wisconsin Dems have taken I urge you to contact me immediately @ xxx-xxx-xxxx. I have helped your campaigns for OH-62 since 2004 and I believe SB5 is the most onerous right-wing attack on working people of Ohio we have ever seen that has NOTHING TO DO with the current budget shortfall. Most of this shortfall can be blamed on the Big Banks playing the derivative market that caused this worldwide economic calamity (see Matt Taibbi in Rolling Stone for the gory details). SB5 is focusing on the obvious right-wing tactic of "Blame the Victim", namely destroying collective bargaining for unions, like our teachers, firefighters, police, city workers and more.. This EXTREME tactic by Kasich requires an EQUAL and OPPOSITE EXTREME pushback by OH Democrats.

I and my many friends and your constituents are FIRMLY BEHIND you in opposing SB5. If there is anything I can do to STOP SB5 please call me at xxx-xxx-xxxxx. From PRI's Marketplace Tuesday

Wisconsin targets public employees

John Peacock (president of the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance): People watching the tumultuous budget battle here in Wisconsin probably infer that Wisconsin probably has one of the worst state deficits, that we have runaway spending and debt, and that we have a bloated public sector. And in fact, none of those things is actually true.

And the same is true for Kasich and his SB5 being forced through the Ohio Legislature.

Please contact me at your earliest to discuss IMMEDIATE ACTION against SB5.

The TIME is NOW.
Write your elected in the OH House NOW!
