Cummings said "a huge majority” of the voters he meets are still angry over the rescue plan. He said he would have opposed it.

"I just feel like it happened too quickly,” said Cummings, a petroleum land manager.

"There were too many people making ‘the-sky-is-falling’ decisions. They should have had hearings and looked at alternatives.

"I don’t want the economy to crash. But it’s not going too well after (the bailout plan passed.)”

Cummings said he also wants to work on a health care plan that would cover all uninsured children and an energy policy that would encourage the use of more vehicles powered by natural gas.
