Dean backer picked for Democratic position

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

PORTLAND -- Oregon Democrats have chosen a Howard Dean volunteer as their new national committeewoman, replacing Mary Botkin, a union lobbyist who was first elected to the position in 1998.

Portland resident Jenny Greenleaf, who also worked on the party's ballot collection effort in November, was chosen by the state Democratic Central Committee to serve a four-year term.
