Fred Phelps/Westboro Baptist protest planned for Menchaca/Tucker funerals

These people are just downright disgusting!

A small group of people from the Westboro Baptist Church out of Topeka, Kansas have announced their plans to picket the funerals of both Tucker and Menchaca.

-The PFC Tommy Tucker memorial service is scheduled to be held Saturday, July 1 at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond, Oregon . The Oregon National Guard, which is helping the Tucker family, says the service will be open to the public. Afterward, the family will hold a private burial. Tucker's remains are to be flown to Oregon on Monday, June 29th.

-PFC Menchaca's body will be flown into the Brownsville, Texas airport on a military plane. The remains are expected to arrive around 12:45 Monday (June 29th) afternoon. Once his body arrives in the Valley the viewing and funeral mass will take place at the Brownsville Events Center on Paredes Line Road. On Tuesday a public visitation will take place from 10am until 7pm. The rosary will be from 7pm until 9pm. Then on Wednesday visitations will take place from 8am to 10am. The funeral mass will begin at 10am.

The family has also opened the graveside services in Madras to the public. Meanwhile, reacting to news that opposing groups may picket the memorial service, Deschutes County Commissioners passed an emergency order barring demonstrators from going beyond the gates to the fairgrounds. Police say anyone who violates that order will be taken to jail."

I believe the opposing groups have dropped plans to picket the Westboro so-called Baptist picketers, but doubt Phelps' group will do the same. Can only hope they violate the Commission's order and land in our county jail. And that a judge will set a huge bail, say like maybe fifty million dollars. And that Phelps' followers rot there...not that I want them in our county that long, but would be nice to see them locked away for awhile. Wish we had dungeons. Then when they have a trial, I'd love to be called for jury duty...But since all this seems kinda unlikely, maybe a strategically placed bolt of lightning would be sufficient. It is kinda cloudy today, and we have been having T-storms, so hope springs eternal...

I cannot express my utter disdain for Phelps and his minions. Just hope they don't disrupt Tom's service today. And that his family doesn't have to look upon them...
