Condoleezza Rice puts off Oregon talk
The Oregonian

Maria Wulff, the council's president, said she didn't know why Rice needed to stay in Washington next week, "but we assume it's important."

Wulff added that the change in dates allows Rice to speak in a larger ballroom inside the Oregon Convention Center that can accommodate about 1,000 people. Rice will give a brief address, followed by time for written questions from the audience.

Tickets cost $35 to $75, with the lowest prices for those with tickets to the council's 2004-05 International Speaker Series. Ticket information is available on the council's Web site, www.worldoregon.org, or by calling 503- 552-9888. - -- Boaz Herzog

4. Not a fundraiser, but a speech for the "World Affairs Council"
at the convention center.

I guess the threat of my Condi-Liar fliers up and down MLK ave scared her away.

Or perhaps the World Affairs Council concluded that Condi had nothing of value to say about world affairs.
