SOLV gives free clean up kits to folks wanting to pick up

garbage in their local neighborhoods or bus stops.

DH & I walk most days & once every month or so we pick up garbage along the route. I wanted to get some of those yellow bags that the State uses but couldn't figure out which of the zillion agencies to call. I finally called SOLV thinking that at least they might be able to give me a hint. Anyhoo, the woman said that I could just go to their website & order some.

Thought I would pass this along if there's any other litter getters out there. (Oh, you have to sign a waiver form to get the bags.)

I just ordered a kit. The bike path behind our place is a mess. :bounce:

There is some major ass that bags his garbage(I gotta ASSume it's a guy)& tosses it out the window. He uses a plastic grocery sack & fills it full of the same bizarre items; tea bags, empty fruit snack & ritz cracker boxes, etc. And, to add to the fun, a large mcdonald's cup filled with either chew or something even more disgusting. UGH! DH & I filled 4 large trash bags with his mess.

And now some other ass has started tossing his (again, I ASSume it's a guy) empty taco bell bags out. He must have passed us one day because by the time we had walked back it was lying in the middle of the road. It's a very quiet, rural street & we can't help but notice every car. In fact, we wave at every car so we must have waved at him. UGH!
