The PA Republican party is sending me an absentee ballot
... or so they say, according to a robocall which I received a few minutes ago. Is that even legal? Shouldn't I be the one asking for the absentee ballot?

Anyone else getting these calls? (They originate from 877-497-2258)

1. See my reply in other thread. Glad you got the phone number.
I got the same thing. See my discussion.

I didn't capture the caller ID. Glad you did. Someone should do a reverse directory search on that phone number (877-497-2258), I don't have an account with any of the reverse directory services.

2. So slimey...
I received the same call. I called the number back and of course it was just an answering machine but I was sure to leave a message telling them it was incredibly misleading and to never call my household again. If you call the 877 number, they give you another number to contact the state Republican committee. It's not illegal for them to send you an absentee ballot application, but it is illegal for you to vote absentee if you will be in your precinct on election day. They are hoping people don't realize this, vote absentee, and have their vote not counted. Also, in other states, they were sending Democrats absentee ballots with the wrong mailing address. If this happens, contact your county board of elections immediately, as I threatened to do in my message. It may not be a bad idea to contact the board of elections anyway and let them know about your robocall so they can be aware if they receive an influx of absentee ballot applications. Watch this very closely--there is no limit to how low they will sink to disenfranchise Pennsylvania voters.
