Why did Specter get AFL-CIO
endorsement? Before Specter flip flopped he was totally against the America Free Choice Act (Card Check). He is still opposed to it because his billionaire cronies in retail and big business such as Bernie Marcus (a founder of Home Depot) are afraid it might move some of their billions in net worth to workers. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/campaigns/labor?start=60

Joe Sestak was an original sponsor of the bill. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Sestak

1. Everyone loves a winner
If Sestak had been rising in the polls, I think the unions would have held off on the endorsements. However, it sure looks like Specter is going to win the Dem nomination, so groups want to be on his good side.

2. Bingo ...
unions are nothing if not pragmatic ...

take their chances with Sestak against Toomey, who would be a friggen nightmare on every level ... Or take the chance that Specter will be break their way at least half the time given he has a better shot at beating Toomey ...

4. Yeah ...
I personally find it refreshing to see a pol being frugal with campaign dollars ...

That being said, while I like him a lot, Sestak has had his share of campaign snafus, for sure ...
