Specter Thanks "Republicans" at Democratic Event
"One week before next Tuesday's primary election, Republican-turned Democrat U.S. Senator Arlen Specter appeared before Allegheny County Democrats in Pittsburgh.

And, in a slip of the tongue, Specter thanked "Allegheny County Republicans" for supporting him.

Later, talking to reporters, Specter was asked about the gaffe.

"I think it's not unusual for anybody to misspeak from time to time," he quipped. "I'm not a television commentator. I'm not as smooth as you guys."

The Senator's switch from Republican to Democrat earlier this year has been a major theme in the primary campaign between Specter and Congressman Joe Sestak."....

5. You keep on bringing this up, but I have been told that Sestak was born and raised in PA
and has lived here his entire life. I am a Specter supporter so don't get me wrong, I just am curious. Does he have two homes-similar to the Santorum situation?

9. Actually I am...
I feel no need to prove it to you, since you use that line with anyone that ISN'T supporting the career politition to stay in office well into his 80's.....

Establishment, endorsements & advertising be damned, I am voting for the BEST canidate - Joe Sestak

Don't worry, Specter still might pull this out - we've got a lot of sheeple here in PA. Being a liberal, I am a minority in this area ( in more ways than one)

3. Yeah, and I get my kids names wrong when I am calling them once in a while.
Ihave even been known to forget what I was going to say.

This is childish nit-picking a far as I am concerned. Gaffes happen-especially sometimes when you are tired and have a lot on your mind.

6. I don't particularly want to see him make mistakes like this but felt it was noteworthy.
It would certainly seem that a campaign against Toomey would also be quite tiresome and all-consuming.

You're entitled to your opinion and others are entitled to theirs...but I'm sure that we could agree that the decisions we have to make next Tuesday here in PA are very important and very difficult.
