As regular readers of this blog know, one of my goals is to bring cutting-edge political information and analysis to readers. One of the more popular examples of what I am talking about can be found here.
So, in an effort to keep up this blog's tradition, today I had the privilege of participating in an online chat with South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford.
The way it worked: You submit a question, the question is posted to the page, then the Governor shows up (one hour late) and goes down the list of questions, posting his answers.
Most of the participants were asking questions about whether he is being vetted for Vice-President, his views on government spending, how he thinks President Bush will be regarded by history, all standard political yawn-inducing dreck.
I submitted the following question:
Question: Governor, One of the most enduring truths of politics is that politicians never keep the promises they made during the campaign. When are you going to live up to your pledge to box a kangaroo on live TV?
